Pork Souvlaki Plates
Juicy seasoned pork served with crisp salad, potatoes, and a bright creamy dressing.
INGREDIENTS
- 600g Pork Steak
- 4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Lemon
- 4 cloves Garlic
- 2 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 Cucumber
- 240g Greek Yogurt
- 1 Red Onion
- 2 Tomato
- 2 Pita Bread
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black Pepper
STEPS
- 1
Cut 600g of pork steak into 2 to 3 cm cubes. In a bowl, combine 4 tbsp of olive oil, the juice from 1 lemon, 4 cloves of garlic (minced), 2 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of salt, and 0.5 tsp of black pepper. Add the pork, toss thoroughly, cover, and marinate in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

While the pork marinates, grate 1 cucumber and squeeze out excess liquid. Stir it with 240g of greek yogurt, a pinch of salt, and a little lemon juice to make a thick tzatziki. Slice 1 red onion and 2 tomatoes.
- 3
Thread the marinated pork onto skewers, or place the pieces directly in a hot lightly oiled frying pan. Cook over medium-high heat for 12 to 15 minutes, turning every 2 to 3 minutes, until browned on all sides, steaming hot throughout, and with no pink remaining in the centre. If using wooden skewers, soak them first and keep the raw-pork plate separate from serving plates.

Warm 2 pita breads in a dry pan for 30 to 60 seconds per side until soft and lightly marked. Serve the pork with the warm pita, tzatziki, sliced onion, and tomato.
